Is the system unique?
Yes. The system has been organically developed by Robert Emery (CEO) over ten years of teaching. He discovered his pupils found traditional methods of learning restrictive and ineffective, leading to the creation of the Arts Academy method.
What musical instruments does the Arts Academy cover?
The Arts Academy covers all musical instruments -, for example Piano, Violin, Guitar, Oboe, etc.
Can a child learn more than one instrument?
The Arts Academy feel that complete beginners to music learn more efficiently by concentrating on one instrument. When they feel a pupil is ready, they may then learn to play as many instruments as they wish.
Is there any music theory involved?
Music theory is an important and integral part of getting to know your instrument. Therefore at every level through their innovative technology, music theory is included in the most enjoyable way possible.
The child is very young. How will he/she concentrate for an hour?
The Arts Academy have discovered that the majority of children above the age of four can keep concentration for an hour due to the amount of different activities in a typical Music hour.
How does one obtain the course materials needed for a the child’s Music Hour?
The professor will provide all the learning materials needed.
How much additional practice does a child need to do every week?
If the child joins as a beginner, for the first few months of their tuition with the Arts Academy, they is no pressure placed on the pupils to practice. After this time, the professor will create a home plan that will make key suggestions about the amount of practice the child should undertake, what to do and how to do it.
Will a child take exams?
This is up to the parent, the child and the professor to decide. The arts Academy policy is not to work towards exams, but to take them when and if the child is ready. If exams are taken they are usually done through the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
